StrongerBC future skills grant

Coast Mountain College is pleased to offer eligible courses for the StrongerBC future skills grant. The grant will cover up to $3,500 of eligible costs for your short-term skills training at public universities and colleges in BC.
 
Between September 1 – December 31, 2023 Coast Mountain College will be offering:

  • Airbrakes Certification Prep
  • Budgets and Financial Reporting  -  FULL
  • Building Service Worker Certificate  -  FULL
  • Exploring Health Careers  -  FULL
  • MS Office Certificate  -  FULL
  • Trauma Informed Practice

Student Eligibility: 

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person entitled to study in Canada.
  • Must be B.C. residents and currently live in B.C.
  • Must be 19 years or older or have graduated high school by the start of the course/program.
  • Must provide consent for CMTN to disclose learner information to the Province.
  • Should not be receiving duplicative and/or overlapping funding to cover eligible costs (i.e. grants, loans, scholarships, or other funding that covers the same program costs as the Stronger BC future skills grant)

Students should understand that:

  • The StrongerBC future skills grant benefits may have tax implications;
  • The StrongerBC future skills grant is subject to a lifetime maximum of $3,500;
  • If students are receiving any federal or provincial benefit, such as Employment Insurance (EI) or BC Employment Assistance (BCEA), approval must be sought from the appropriate government body before participating in a program;
  • The amount of StrongerBC future skills grant funding received is subject to review and audit.

Eligible costs for future skills grant programs:

  • Lifetime maximum of $3,500 inclusive of all eligible costs
  • Tuition
  • Mandatory fees
  • Program/course materials (textbooks, textbook or required program software, and tools)

Not eligible: childcare, living allowances, and transportation.

As a recipient of this funding, you are required to complete the application form below to register.

By completing this form, you are confirming that you have not exceeded the lifetime future skills grant funding of $3,500.

Your personal information on this form is collected by the institution you are attending under sections 26(c), 26(e), 27(1)(b) and 33(2)(d) of the B.C. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. It will be used by the institution to manage, administer and report on program enrolments and completions. It will be disclosed to the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills for administration, evaluation, accountability, and reporting purposes, including to determine your eligibility for funding under StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG).
